Origin & Appearance
The Hedera helix 'Wonder', a cultivar of the common ivy, originally comes from Europe and parts of Western Asia. It belongs to the Araliaceae family and is known for its rapid growth and adaptability.
This evergreen plant grows both hanging and climbing and develops adhesive organs with its aerial roots that can cling to surfaces. Its small, dense, deep green leaves are often slightly wavy and have a shiny surface. Thanks to its compact, bushy growth, it is ideal as a houseplant, for hanging baskets or as a ground cover in larger containers.
care instructions
▪ Light: Can cope with almost all lighting conditions – from semi-shaded to shady places. Direct midday sun should be avoided.
▪ Water: Water moderately, the substrate should be evenly moist but not wet. Avoid waterlogging.
▪ Temperature: 10 to 22 °C is ideal. Ivy is very robust and can survive cooler temperatures.
▪ Humidity: Average – can cope with normal room air, but prefers a slightly higher humidity.
▪ Fertilization: During the growing season (spring to autumn) provide liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks, fertilize less frequently in winter.
